FAQS

WHAT ARE YOUR FEES?

We value transparency, and so we aim to make the fee structure of our assessments as clear and easy-to-understand as possible. Our current fee is $250/hour (which includes 50 minutes of direct contact and 10 minutes for preparation/note-taking). Please see "services" for an in-depth break-down of what you can expect an assessment to cost.

DO YOU OFFER SLIDING SCALE RATES?

Our clinic does not currently offer sliding scale rates or low-fee assessments.

ARE YOUR SERVICES COVERED BY INSURANCE?

Psychological services are not currently funded by OHIP.

Psychological services are however covered under most extended healthcare insurance plans/employee benefits (e.g., Sunlife). Each insurance provider and plan is unique, so please check with your provider for confirmation on coverage limits and any specific requirements. Direct billing to these insurance companies is not available. After each session, you will receive an electronic receipt, and you can submit your paid receipt for reimbursement.

In addition, psychological services are GST-exempt, and they are also considered to be a tax deductible medical expense.

DO YOU REQUIRE A DOCTOR'S REFERRAL?

We do not require a doctor's referral! You are welcome to contact our office to set up an appointment at any time. However, some insurance providers (see above) may require a doctor's referral for reimbursement.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

We accept payment via e-transfer or credit card (Mastercard or Visa).

DO YOU CHARGE A FEE FOR MISSED APPOINTMENTS?

Yes, you will be charged a full session fee for any missed appointments, or appointments that are cancelled with less than 24-hours notice. Please understand that when you book an appointment, that time has been reserved for you. Wait-times for psychological services are very long, and part of our clinic's mission is to help cut down on wait-times for assessments. However, without adequate notice, we are not able to offer the spot to anyone else on the waitlist.

Our clinic does respect COVID-19 protocols, and so if your child is sick on the day of the appointment, please do not come in. However, we still ask that you provide us as much notice as possible (7am at the latest), as we may be able to accommodate the appointment in a different way (e.g., completing online questionnaires from home).

DO YOU OFFER THERAPY OR ANY OTHER SERVICES?

Not at this time. Please check back in the future!

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

Our office is in the quaint village of Carp, an easy 15-minute drive from Kanata and Stittsville. Convenient and free on-site parking is available. While you are in the area (or if you are a parent waiting during your child's appointment!), we highly recommend checking out some of our wonderful local spots, including Eldon's Pantry, Alice's Village Cafe, and Carp Custom Creamery. A car (or taxi/Uber) is required to get to our office, as Carp does not have bus service.
